My primary six form mistress once gave me this card with a quote she wrote that reads...
"That which is striking and beautiful may not always be good, but that which is good is always beautiful."
Although I was only twelve back then, I was touched by what was written.
Some time last week, I was on a bus when this little girl came along with her mother. She insisted on sitting next to the window and not long after she started pointing out what she saw to her mother and at the same time she started "ooo-ing" and "aaahhh-ing" at almost everything that went by. She wowed at the blue sky, wowed at the green grass, wowed at the birds that flew by....When I turned to look at what got her fascinated, I realised that it's been a long time since I took time to appreciate the beauty of the world around us. Looking at the world through the eyes of a little one. <- Innocent and child-like. Each time I remain silent and take time off to admire the things around me, it's not difficult to see what a blessed life I have and what a beautiful place I live in.
I'm especially thankful for all the relationships in my life be it with lml, my family or my friends. Today marks six wonderful years spent with lml. Just want send a shout-out to tell him how thankful I am to have him by my side. With him around, life can only get more beautiful. =)
Absolutely love the lyrics to the song currently playing as my background music too. Brings a tear to my eye each time I listen closely to it. Here goes...
What A Wonderful World
