L.m.l and I gotta be most unadventurous people when it comes to eating. No matter where I am, my choice of food will most likely be either fish or pasta. And if you think I'm bad, you've not seen someone more unadventurous that I already am. All l.m.l cares about eating is probably fried chicken, grilled chicken, broiled chicken...in short, just give him chicken and he'd be a happy man. It's not a bad thing altogether, at least it's easy to make his stomach happy. KFC any time.
Singaporeans are known to have a voracious appetite for variety in food. Was told the reason why fine dining don't do so well here is largely due to Singaporean's preference for variety and change. They are constantly looking for new eateries. Restaurants can only draw in that many new crowd, when the hype dies down they'd ultimately they'd need to fall back on a regular clientele. As for l.m.l and myself, we do our best to try out as many new eating places as possible but chances are we'd still end up at our usual pet places. (We are unadventurous people remember?) Haha. On Saturday, we decided we'd pop by that chic and cool looking place at Isetana Park which is opposite PS I love you (i.e Plaza Singapura).
The place I'm talking about's called Giraffe. Thumbs up for the ambience there. But I can't quite say the same for the food. It's either the lozenges that made my taste buds numb or the food's really pretty bland. We had 3 risotto balls covered with mozarella cheese and later deep fried as an entree. It's not too bad. After which, I had Spinach Ravioli in Red Capsicum Sauce. The portion's really small. With 5 ravioli's 'swimming' around in a slightly oily sauce. Once again quite tasteless. L.m.l ate this fried chicken thingy with mash and mushrooms. That's slightly better. Together with one cocktail the bill came close to 70. It's a really nice place to hang out. Perhaps not really for the food but more for a drink and probably some nachos or breaded mushrooms. Peektures...
