JUST A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED

Yesterday was a bad day. As if 1 disappointment wasn't bad enough I had 2.

Failed my driving test with the most horrendous results ever. I was driving at about 20km/h when he asked me to turn into this Crank course. I thought it was the crank course no. 27 but he meant 26 so he said 'here! here!" Reflex action got me to just swerve in at a speed that's too fast to be negotiating a crank course. I then...MOUNTED THE KERB! I braked hard at once and that caused my car's engine to stall. Felt like crying there and then 'cos I've never mounted a kerb like that before but you know it'd just happen when you're taking the test for the first time (it's a curse!). "Hurhur" he said, "Immediate failure you know?" I managed a very weak "Yah, I know." I then tried to reverse out. But this learner driver drove into the crank course and stopped right behind me. (I know I can't blame her 'cos she's learning but hello! you're too near and I'm on test.) I've no room to reverse so I just inched and tadah! Strike kerb twice. (Front and back wheels.) That's 20 points.

As if that's not bad enough when we were on the road, he told me to keep left after turning right. I changed over 3 lanes from right to extreme left which is the bus lane then he said "Okay. U-turn ahead." @#$%$#@# One short road want me to change 3 lanes from right to left then back to right again when there are so so so many vehicles. Sob. That's 12 points. 8 points for causing other vehicles to slow down and give way. 4 points for not conforming safely. And so it seems...that I'm no Michael Schumacer when it comes to driving. No excuses I know, I'm just not quite there.

Since it was Siscie's last day of exams we went out to eat and shop a little. When I got home, I got myself busy minding Pepper and so on. Wasn't until much later that I went back into my room with this envelope sitting on my bed. I ripped it open and was greeted with yet another disappointed. It says,

"We are sorry to infrom that your application is unsuccessful due to overwhelming number of applications."

Statistically, we had a higher probability and a higher chance of getting it but we just didn't. Though upset, I don't think I'm as disappointed as l.m.l is though. At this point in time, Pastor Lien's sermon last Sunday comes in so apt. To be joyful even during times of adversities. When one piece of bad news comes in and all that greets you are nothing but bad news just smile and not let your joy be robbed. We continue to trust the Father provides our every need. When a thief comes to steal, we'd be restored 7 times more. And when your joy cannot be stolen, nothing else of yours can be stolen.
